Facility Rentals The Museum of the Southwest offers the opportunity to host special events and parties in a setting of grand elegance from bygone days. The Turner Mansion which houses the Museum was completed in 1937, and it is on the National Registry of Historic Homes. When exhibition conditions permit, portions of the Mansion may be rented for parties, meetings, corporate events, and wedding receptions. The Museum does not rent its facilities for political events, fundraisers, religious ceremonies, or weddings. Members of the Museum, such as Corporate Members, President’s Club members, and also non-profit organizations benefit from a discount on the rental fees. Generally the fee structure, without a discount, is: Here & Now Gallery (capacity: approx. 95 standing, 80 seated) $575 rental Thomas & Turner Gallery area (capacity: 220 standing, 200 seated; approximately 120 seated at tables) $1,500 rental Library (or) Solarium (capacity: 20) either room $500 rental Hogan Gallery (capacity 47) rental $550 Planetarium – under renovation during 2008 It may be available in mid-2009. One Area of the Grounds (capacity ranges to several hundred) $700 Entire Grounds Area (capacity reaches over 1,500) $1,800.00 There are charges for Security Fees and a refundable Clean-up Deposit. Also there are optional fees for Use of the Kitchen and for Use of the Piano. Renters of the Facility are responsible for their own food and drink catering. The Museum will provide chairs and tables for indoor events. For outdoor events, tables and chairs must be rented from an outside provider.
