About the Event

Join us on October 14, 2023 for this century's most spectacular annular eclipse! Beginning at 10:18am, the eclipse will peak around 11:45am, and end by 1:21pm. Don't wait, swing by the Blakemore Planetarium today to purchase your eclipse viewing glasses!

Our special guest, retired NASA astronaut, John Herrington, will speak in the Helen Greathouse Discovery Dome at 1pm & 3pm CDT, talking about his adventures in space and the importance of STEM for future generations. For more information about our guest speaker, click here.

Additionally, partnering STEM educators, NuMinds Enrichment, McDonald Observatory, and Texas Tech's Physics Department will offer kid-friendly activities throughout the day.
