FOURTH GRADE TOURS PROGRAM
Each October the Museum of the Southwest tours every fourth grader in the Midland Independent School District, free of charge. The tours visit three parts of the Museum's campus and design all three experiences around a central, cross-curricular theme. Information is emailed to principals and teachers at the beginning of each school year and schedules are provided by MISD. For more information or questions, please contact us.

BOOKING A TOUR
Please note that school tours are for grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. We do not have tour options for younger than Kindergarten.
After your tour request has been submitted, a member of the education team will contact you to discuss details and availability and to answer any questions you may have.
When your tour date and options have been confirmed by our education team, you will receive an email confirmation with your invoice and tour information.
TOURS AND GROUP RATES
Tours and group rates are available upon request. We request that your group consist of at least 10 people and no more than 50 people in one area; exceptions to these requirements may be made upon approval of request. Tours book up quickly for the year, so please plan ahead. If you have special requests, please let us know at the time of your booking. Specialized tours require a booking at least one month in advance.
We have an exciting selection of tour options that can be customized for your group. When booking a tour, please let us know what options you are interested in as well as dates and times. Most tour options run in 30 to 40 minute sessions. Sessions can be booked as a single session or multiple sessions can be booked for the same day depending on group size, time frame, and staff availability.
** Tours cannot be booked in the months of October and February in order to accommodate our 4th grade tour program.
Tour prices are $2 per child for one venue plus $1 for added venues, therefore a trip to the Turner Memorial Art Museum and Blakemore Planetarium would total $3 per child. We ask for a minimum number of students and that one teacher and one adult chaperone is provided per 10 children. Adult chaperones and teachers are free of charge. Payment is expected upon arrival unless otherwise prearranged. Payment should be gathered before arriving and presented as one payment; this makes it easier to process your group into the Museum in a timely manner. Payment can be made in cash, check or credit card, please make checks out to: The Museum of the Southwest. If you need a receipt please let visitor services know and one will be provided for you.
