PLAN YOUR FIELD TRIP WITH US!

The Museum of the Southwest offers an inspiring blend of art, culture, and science for students to explore. The expansive campus offers something for everyone in an exciting atmosphere. Our multidisciplinary facilities include the Blakemore Planetarium, the Durham Children’s Museum, and the Historic Turner Mansion & Fine Art Galleries. Additional attractions include the outdoor Coterra Sound Garden, Sculpture Garden, and playground.
 
We’re excited to welcome groups for field trips year-round! Whether you’re planning an educational outing or a fun day of exploration, we’ll tailor your visit to meet your group’s needs and interests.

 

Field Trips Are Available Year-Round on Tuesday – Friday
Choose a time that works best for you:

  • Morning: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Afternoon: 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM

 

Our calendar fills up fast —so book early to reserve your preferred date!

 

Your field trip can include any combination of the following:

  • Blakemore Planetarium

  • Durham Children’s Museum

  • Art Museum & Turner Mansion

  • Outdoor Attractions

 

We’ll tailor the experience to fit your group’s size and age range!

 

Cost & Requirements:

  • $5.00 per student

  • 1 adult chaperone required per 10 students, and all additional adults will be admitted at a full adult admission rate of $12.00

CODE OF CONDUCT
Please be respectful of the Museum and other guests. Please refrain from running, shouting, or engaging in disruptive behavior inside the facilities. Respect Museum exhibitions, facilities, and the experiences of others. Please follow posted signs and instructions from museum staff at all times. Courteous and kind behavior is expected of everyone.
