Making Waves School Tour is our new, exciting tour opportunity for school groups offering an exclusive and immersive tour for students in grades 3-5.  The tour experience will include activities in each of our three buildings, the Blakemore Planetarium, the Historic Turner Mansion, and the Fredda Turner Durham Children's Museum. Click here for a presentation of our new tour program!

Making Waves School Tours will only be offered on select Mondays and the tours will begin promptly at 10am and end at 1:30pm, with a scheduled 30 minute lunch break.  The Museum campus is closed to visitors on Mondays, so the group will have private access to our buildings! The tour will include activities that are based on TEKS standards for science and creative expression.

Tour group size will be limited and will consist of no more than 30 students (not including chaperones and teachers).  School groups must have one teacher and one adult chaperone per 10 children.

The Making Waves School Tour experience on Mondays is $5 per student and free for chaperones and teachers.  To book a tour or for more information, please contact us.  For other Field Trip options, please contact Kim Henderson via email.

Please refrain from running, screaming, or engaging in disruptive behavior inside of the facilities. Respect museum exhibits, facilities, and the experiences of others.  Courteous, kind, and respectful behavior is expected of everyone. Please follow posted signed and instructions from museum staff.
