ABOUT
Season’s Greetings offers a rare glimpse into the personal connections between some of the 20th century’s most celebrated artists. Featuring 43 framed and unframed holiday cards selected from a collection of more than 150 handmade artworks and limited-edition prints, the exhibition showcases greetings sent to Monroe Wheeler, Director of Exhibitions and Publications at the Museum of Modern Art from 1939 to 1967.
Many of these works have never been publicly displayed and feature renowned artists such as Jean Cocteau, Ben Shahn, Miguel Covarrubias, Rufino Tamayo, Robert Andrew Parker, Roberto Montenegro, Herbert Bayer, and Max Weber.
